Zirconia (ZrO₂), often referred to as “ceramic steel,” combines exceptional hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance with one of the highest fracture toughness values among ceramics. This makes it uniquely durable and reliable in demanding environments.
Available in several grades—most notably Yttria Partially Stabilized Zirconia (Y-PSZ) and Magnesia Partially Stabilized Zirconia (Mg-PSZ)—zirconia offers excellent mechanical and chemical properties.
