Zirconia Toughened Alumina (ZTA) Ceramics are advanced composite materials that combine the hardness of alumina (Al₂O₃) with the toughness of zirconia (ZrO₂). This synergy results in enhanced performance across a wide range of applications.

High Strength & Toughness: Offers 20–30% greater flexural strength and fracture toughness than pure alumina.
Excellent Wear Resistance: Ideal for high-friction or abrasive environments.
Corrosion & Chemical Resistance: Suitable for chemically harsh conditions.
Cost-Effective: Provides a strength/toughness improvement over alumina at a lower cost than pure zirconia (YTZP, MSZ, or CSZ).
Transformation Toughening: When stressed, zirconia particles undergo a phase transformation that compresses cracks in the alumina matrix, enhancing fracture resistance.
